    In his directorial debut, Eduardo De Filippo chose to adopt a play by his brother Peppino, who also reluctantly raised the funds to produce the film.
    It is a lovely light comedy set in the Italian countryside, concerning a young American "starlet", who falls into the lives of two eccentric brothers, when she decides to run out on her fiancйe on the eve of their marriage.
    The two brothers take the young woman in, and both of them fall in love with her.
    What follows is a string of confrontations between the brothers, as well as between the brothers and the women in their lives.
    Seen today, the film overflows with charm, however, in its day, released on the eve of the war, and without proper distribution, the film failed to recover its costs.
