Jeanne est mariée et a deux enfants. Auteur spécialisé dans les biographies, elle est plongée dans l'écriture d'un premier roman sur son enfance. Peu à peu, elle constate des changements mystérieux autour d'elle et voit son corps se transformer sans que son entourage ne semble rien remarquer. Perturbée, elle se confie à sa mère puis à un psychiatre. Elle découvre chez sa mère une photographie qui la met sur la trace d'une femme, en Italie. Jeanne, dont le visage est désormais complètement transformé, y trouvera la clef d'un étrange passé…

Jeanne, a wife and mother of two children, suddenly notices changes to the way the family home is arranged and feels that her body is transforming without anyone around her noticing it. While everyone believes that Jeanne's shifts of perception are due to the fatigue and stress that the writing of her next book has induced, Jeanne is sure that something more profound is happening. When visiting her mother, she discovers a photograph that prompts her to track down a woman in Italy. It is here that Jeanne, now completely physically transformed, will find the solution to her mysterious identity.
