Endless Voyage tells the captivating story of the of the necessary evolution that took place between the end of the war and present day. The 'jet age' had forced liners into the most dramatic struggle of their long and illustrious history and by the 1960's 95% of Transatlantic crossings were made by jet. The liners reacted in the only way they could, they found a way to embrace the jet age and worked together with the jets to in focusing their attention on the cruise holiday market : the jets would fly the passengers to Miami and the ships would take care of the rest. Cruise holidays were now a global enterprise and new, huge and decadently luxurious liners were being launched. Where speed used to the liners main criteria, it is now size and luxury which ticks the necessary boxes, illustrated perfectly by the mighty QE2 and the "floating city", Carnival Destiny, which has helped to usher in a new era for the liners.

Enduring the Front
The story of the ill-fated Nivelle offensive of 1917, in which French commander Robert Nivelle galvanised 750,000 troops in a lightning attack on the German defences, only for the heavy losses inflicted on the French to lead to mutiny in the ranks. Meanwhile, the British found themselves under pressure at the third battle of Ypres, also known as Passchendaele, where the atrocious weather turned the battleground into a muddy hell. Richard Holmes also looks at the underground warfare waged during the battle.

The U.S. Office of War Information (OWI) was created during World War II (WWII). Part of its role was to oversee U.S. propaganda and promote patriotism. As part of this role, the OWI produced 267 newsreels called the 'United News.’ These newsreels were shown throughout the U.S., but were targeted to overseas viewers. The reels were released in several languages, including German. However, they were primarily distributed to allied and neutral countries.
