With the intention of creating a Portuguese empire, Dom Sebastiao sets off for Africa to fight in the name of Christ. In 1578, he faces a Muslim sultan during the Battle of Alcacer Quibir, but mysteriously disappears without trace. This tragic disappearance gives birth to the myth of the hidden king. In Portugal, this heroic myth is manifested by the arrival of a king on a white horse one misty morning. His return has an ultimate aim: to save humanity from evil.
In his castle, Dom Sebastiao conceptualizes the idea of a Christian Portuguese empire. With this in mind, he deems it necessary to leave for Africa in order to extend his empire.
