Shrek Terzo (2007)

Shrek è impegnato nelle incombenze di governare il regno di Molto Molto Lontano con risultati disastrosi e preferirebbe tornare nella tranquillità della palude. Quando Re Harold muore, piuttosto che succedergli sul trono, Shrek decide di trovare un erede. Shrek, Ciuchino e il Gatto con gli stivali partono alla ricerca del cugino Arthur, ma durante il viaggio l'orco viene a sapere che la moglie è incinta e ha molti dubbi (e incubi) se potrà essere un bravo padre. Shrek tenta di convincere il giovane a lasciare la scuola per diventare re, senza però accennare alle difficoltà di regnare o al fatto che l'orco stesso non vuole quelle responsabilità, quando lo scopre Arthur si sente tradito e non vuole più seguirlo. Intanto il Principe Azzurro raduna tutti i cattivi delle fiabe della locanda La Mela Avvelenata con l'obbiettivo di usurpare il trono. Fiona, insieme alle altre principesse delle fiabe (Biancaneve, Raperonzolo, la Bella Addormentata, Cenerentola e una delle sue sorellastre) rimasta nel regno, deve cercare di difenderlo dall'invasione dei cattivi. Ma col tradimento di Raperonzolo vengono fatte prigioniere. Anche Shrek viene catturato e Azzurro organizza un'esibizione pubblica con l'intento di uccidere l'orco dinnanzi ai sudditi del regno. I suoi compagni si liberano e si precipitano a salvarlo, ma è infine Arthur che riconosciute le sue responsabilità interviene e riappacifica tutti, accettando di fare il re. Shrek si è convinto del suo ruolo di genitore e insieme a Fiona si occupano dei loro tre figli nella tranquillità della palude.

Shrek is involved in the tasks of governing the kingdom of Far Far Away with disastrous results and would prefer to return to the quiet of the swamp. When King Harold dies, rather than succeed to the throne, Shrek decides to find an heir. Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots set out to find his cousin Arthur, but the ogre on the way he learns that his wife is pregnant and has many doubts (and nightmares) if it can be a good father. Shrek tries to persuade the young to leave school to become king, but did not mention the difficulty of ruling or the fact that the ogre does not want those same responsibilities, when Arthur finds out and feels betrayed no longer wants to follow him. Meanwhile, Prince Charming gathers all the bad stories of the inn the poisoned apple with the aim to usurp the throne. Fiona, together with the other princesses of fairy tales (Snow White, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and one of his sisters) remained in the kingdom, must try to defend the invasion of evil. But with the betrayal of Rapunzel is taken prisoner. Even Shrek is captured and Blue organizes public exhibition with the intention to kill the ogre in front of the subjects of the kingdom. His comrades are freed and rushed to save him, but Arthur has finally recognized that its responsibilities start and makes peace all accepting to the king. Shrek has become convinced of its role as parent and Fiona dealing with their three children in the quiet of the swamp.
