This disc is the first volume of a series dedicated to the historical organs of the International Festival of the Royal Road between Nice and Turin. Recorded on the magnificent Concone organ of Breil-sur-Roya, this program, chosen with Alice Duport-Percier, is dedicated to the Italian composer of the seventeenth century, Barbara Strozzi. As my friend Jean-François Lattarico says so well, who signs a beautiful presentation of this record, Barbara Strozzi is both libertine and devout. With her Opus V, she offers us a true masterpiece of the genre where the vocal virtuosity of the seventeenth century directly from Caccini and Monteverdi and the expression of human passions are expressed, with a rare intensity.

I would like to thank all the contributors who made it possible to make this disc and especially the Sancta-Maria in Albis association, the town hall of Breil-sur-Roya and all the Festival's supporters.

The historical organs of the International Festival of the Royal Road, and especially the organs of the Roya Valley, still have many beautiful things to reveal to us.
