The Swiss soprano Franziska Andrea Heinzen holds degrees with honours from the music universities of Zurich and Düsseldorf. She completed her vocal art by participating in masterclasses with renowned musicians across numerous disciplines, including vocal coaches (Hedwig Fassbender, Krisztina Laki and Konrad Jarnot), Early Music specialists (Andreas Scholl, Emma Kirkby) as well as various Lied masterclasses with Wolfram Rieger, Ulrich Eisenlohr, Julius Drake, Malcolm Martineau and Hartmut Höll.
Recent engagements include Annio (La clemenza di Tito/Mozart) at the theatre of Trier and Ulm, Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro/Mozart) at the theatre of Hagen (cover) as well as various freelance productions such as the world premier of the opera Liquid Crystal Display by Mouthon in Zurich.
Franziska is also a passionate interpreter of oratorios such as numerous works by Bach or Händel, various works by Mozart and Haydn, spanning to romantic music such as Mahlers IV. Symphony up to contemporary music. She is a keen recitalist and frequently collaborates with duo partner Benjamin Malcolm Mead: The Liedduo is prize holder of the Lied competition Les saisons de la voix 2016, as well as first prize holder of the second International Liedduo competition Rhein-Ruhr 2017 and second prize holder of the Sieghardt-Rometsch chamber music competition 2017. They received the music endowment award of the state capital of Düsseldorf in 2017 and gave their debut recital during the new song series dedicated to Schubert in Barcelona initiated by the Schubertíada de Vilabertran in march of 2018. Heinzen is a Britten-Pears Young Artist and beneficiary of the Richard Wagner Society Dortmund, the Junge Musiker Stiftung Bayreuth, the Madeleine Dubuis foundation and MusikPro. In 2017 she was awarded the music endowment award of the canton Wallis in Switzerland.
