„Chattering Birds“ heißt das neue Album der Schlagzeugerin Leonie Klein, auf dem sie als Solistin und im ISANIE Percussion Duo mit Isao Nakamura zu hören ist. Einige der aufgenommenen Werke sind Auftragskompositionen für die junge Schlagzeugerin und das ISANIE Percussion Duo. Die Solofassungen zweier Werke hat Leonie Klein selbst arrangiert, im Fall von „Speaking Drums“ in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Komponisten Péter Eötvös.
Das neue Album ist eine Reise durch die Klangwelten des Schlagzeugs: Von perkussiven Klängen in Kombination mit gesprochener Sprache über den typischen Sound eines Drumsets bis hin zu Unterwasserklängen eines mit 80 Litern Wasser befüllten Aquariums ist alles dabei.
