Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis was a visionary Lithuanian composer, painter and poet. In his extraordinary work, music, nature and mythology merge into unique artistic expression. This album celebrates his 150th birthday with symphonic poems and piano works. With the Lithuanian star conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, her sister, the pianist Onutė Gražinytė, and their father, the choirmaster of the AIDIJA Chamber Choir, Romualdas Gražinis, as well as the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the interpretation of the works is in the most competent hands. This collection stands as a testament to Čiurlionis’s lasting legacy on Lithuanian culture and the universal language of art.
