Even for Rone, who is used to taking bold steps, the orchestra always seemed a step too far. Motion laid the groundwork for L(oo)ping, a journey that saw Romain Allender (Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel and Guillermo del Toro's The Shape of Water worked) serve as Rone's creative translator.
He browsed through Rone's repertoire and selected the tracks that would lend themselves better to symphonic reinterpretations. L(oo)ping, however, is not just an orchestral retelling of Rone's work. Allender's arrangements, as well as Rone's own interaction with the Orchestre National de Lyon and conductor Dirk Brossé, breathed new life into the music.
