The flutist Sabine Dreier was born in Frankfurt am Main. After studies in Frankfurt (Prof. Klaus Pohlers) and Mannheim (Prof. Joachim Starke), she graduated with a top grade in orchestral music.
She received the "Premier Prix" (concert exam) at the Conservatory in Geneva after studying with Prof. Maxence Larrieu.

Subsequently, she devoted herself increasingly to the performance practice of early music and expanded her knowledge through an intensive study of historical sources. In order to be able to use the diverse sound possibilities of her instrument, she uses a wide variety of flute types, from the Middle Ages to modern times.

She performs with the lutenist Johannes Vogt in the "Duo Mignarda" as well as with the guitarist Rudolf Klemisch in the "Duo Diàlogo" and in the trio "Trefoil classical" with the bassoonist Guido Spitz.
She complements the well-known repertoire with new discoveries by highly talented composers who have received little or no attention so far.

In the "Mutare-Ensemble Frankfurt" and the improvisation ensemble "Vermixelle-Quartett" she dealt with new music and avant-garde. She founded "Trefoil" with jazz guitarist Michael Trifunovic in Sydney, with whom she makes her own music in the style of "impressionistic jazz".
After engagements as solo flutist of the Clara Schumann Orchestra Cologne and the Telemann Chamber Orchestra Saxony-Anhalt, she is now increasingly devoting herself to solo and chamber musical engagements at home and abroad, which also include radio, CD and television productions.
