Composer and pianist Sira Hernández makes her Sony Classical debut as both pianist and composer with TRE IMPRESSIONI Sulla Divina Commedia, a work premiered at the National Library in Spain on 25 March 2021 - International Dante Day - to great acclaim and the support of an impressive array of cultural figures. Sira Hernández presents a wonderful journey through the great work of Dante Alighieri, offering a colossal work for solo piano in three parts, Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, each in turn divided into six parts following the structure of Dante's work. My three impressions of the Divine Comedy", says Sira Hernández, "have no intention of describing this immense work or giving it a soundtrack, that would be impossible and absurd. They are just that, sound impressions… that aroma, that intangible and fleeting trace, like music itself, which, in my reading of these eternal verses, has left a deep and subtle flutter of sensations that have turned into sounds and silence from the deepest part of my being".
