1986 / Genre: Neo-Classical - Flamenco - Instrumental / Novus - USA
Light and tranquil, this is Spanish-flavored classical guitar by Juan Martin with synthesizer and trumpet support from Mark Isham. Each piece is meant as a companion to a famous painting.
"The pictures of the paintings you can see in the "Scans" folder. This is a beautiful and atmospheric album with very musical interpretations of the paintings". This album gives me much listening pleasure; Enjoy this beauty!

Review:
I have a 20 year old Vinyl of this collection which is one of my all time favourites of guitar music, (still haven't obtained a CD, despite occasional searching at the usual megastores). Martin beautifully portrays the paintings in sound, sometimes melancholy, sometimes passionate, othertimes proud but always catching the emotion of the painter's canvas in music, exactly as the title desribes. A Masterpiece of interpretation.
