The Panzer III emerged as one of the formative images of German military success in the newsreels produced by the Propaganda Ministry, documenting the Blitzkrieg victories of the early war years. While proving adequate to the task of countering allied armor in France and the Western desert, the fateful encounter with the superior Soviet T-34 tank, following the invasion of Russia in 1941, revealed the technical shortcomings of the Panzer III.

Its days as a battle tank were numbered, but the Panzer III could still be seen serving in the East as a command tank until 1944, and in other secondary theaters such as Norway until Germany’s surrender.

A future archivist looks at old footage from the year 2008 to understand why humankind failed to address climate change.

Zac Hobson (Bruno Lawrence) is a scientist working for Delenco, part of an international consortium working on "Project Flashlight", an ambitious experiment to create an energy grid around the Earth. He awakens abruptly in his bedroom, appearing somewhat surprised, turning on his radio he finds he is unable to receive any radio transmissions, gets dressed and drives into the city. On the way, he notices that everyone seems to have vanished. Investigating a fire, he discovers the wreckage of a jet, but there are no bodies, only empty seats with the seat belts still fastened.

In 2001, he made THE CAT WITH HANDS, a tale about a very bad pussycat . It was inspired by a recurring nightmare Rob’s older sister Eleanor had when she was young. The film was funded by Channel 4, and won six fairly prestigious awards, including the Soho Rushes New Director Award.
In 2003, having been given funding by S4C and SGRÎN, Rob made THE SEPARATION, another stop-motion piece that won 15 international awards, including the Welsh BAFTA for Best Short Film, and Best Animated Film at the Melbourne International Film Festival. It also made a member of the audience faint from emotional shock in Stuttgart, which made Rob most happy and determined to carry on making films.
The following year he made his first fully live-action short, MONSTERS, commissioned by FilmFour and The UK Film Council as part of their Cinema Extreme scheme. This grisly tale of sibling tension was inspired by a childhood memory of finding a severed goose head outside his suburban family home, as well as by a virulent relationship with his teenaged sister before she finally transformed into a human being. It was premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2004, was nominated for the Golden Melies Award, and has received some shockingly positive reviews.

The sudden and dramatic appearance of German paratroops brought a new and unexpected dimension to the nature of warfare during the Second World War. These new warriors of the air, the Fallschirmjager, were to make critical contributions to some of the most famous battles of the conflict. An enduring legend was created thanks to the Fallschirmjager's dogged defence of Monte Casino and successful invasions of Crete and Norway. With the use of computer graphics and rare archive footage, this film pays homage to a remarkable fighting foce.
