Its code name is ‘Trixie,’ an experimental government germ weapon that leaves its victims either dead or irreversibly insane. When the virus is accidentally unleashed in Evans City, Pennsylvania, the small community becomes a war zone of panicked military, desperate scientists and gentle neighbors turned homicidal maniacs. Now a small group of citizens has fled to the town’s outskirts where they must hide from trigger-happy soldiers while battling their own depraved urges. But even if they can escape the madness of this plague, can they survive the unstoppable violence of THE CRAZIES?

The Crazies is George A Romero's finest film, and most under-rated. You as people if they ave seen it, they claim to never of heard of it. That's too bad. This film is simply amazing, beautifully filmed, scary story (Not make you jump scary, but the creepy -this could possibly happen one day- scary) and wonderful acting. For the first time out of any Romero film, I actually cared about these characters, which makes the movie more tragic when it comes to the ending. I won't say what, but I'll say this, this is the only film I have ever felt emotion towards another character, I felt their loss.I may be alone on this, but it's a much better film then Night of the Living Dead, which is another masterpiece from the same director. Romero has a brilliant mind and his social commentary with every film is astounding. great film.
