Somewhere in a haze of making music, working, losing my house, drugs, getting arrested and so many more fun things I completely forgot to finish the review for this goddamn badass Fistula 7”. If Fistula puts it out you know it’s good and worth your time if you’re a dedicated, addicted and addled to the core sludge fan. Ignorant Weapon will cut your nose off and slide it down your throat in a funnel so you can eat it and be humiliated at the same time.

You get two covers and two originals here. “Wood Glue” opens with a riff more molten and melted than a brain that’s taken over 200 shroom trips…that’s nobody I know. After the slimebag, scum gutter set-up, Bing launches his riffage into a crusty doom punk onslaught that has practically been Fistula’s secret weapon for years now. Dan Harrington screams his head straight off his neck and the rhythms just pile on a twisted car wreck of murderous change-ups that give you a migraine that sticks. A disgustingly good and blasted cover of Fang’s “Destroy the Handicapped” is just as fun and foul as the source material from which it was culled. It’s done up in that self-destructive Fistula tone and attitude while keeping the source material sacred.

A busted-knuckle, bloody-nose Sabbath riff floats like a leech gorged on blood during the intro riff of “This is Sodom, Not L.A.” It just gets under your skin and breaks the bones from the inside. The riffage takes a sharp, lack of medication turn into paranoid hardcore punk where doom and feedback oozes from every open wound lick. The samples are right on the money and Nate's drumming smashes everything in sight with especially tight work on those sewer smelling fills. Sean coats his bass lines in fleas, ticks and lice. GG and Antiseen’s “I Love Nothing” makes an appearance here as well and nobody, and I do mean NOBODY could cover it better than Fistula. The Antiseen-era is my favorite period of GG’s work and Corey n’ the boys sludge this motherfucker to hell and back.

I feel like a shithead for letting this review get lost in the shuffle but it’s never too late to come back and give something the goddamn credit it so rightfully deserves. Ignorant Weapon is Fistula late in their career killing it harder than they ever have. Grab this, Destitute and Vermin Prolificus and blow your fuckin’ brains out!
