A new duo sees the light of the world! Isach Skeidsvoll (piano) and Akira Sakata (saxophone, vocals) release the album “Hidden River” on Nice Things Records 23. mai!

Norwegian pianist Isach Skeidsvoll and Japanese saxophonist Akira Sakata met for the first time to record music in the spring of 2023. The result was the three tracks that make up the record “Hidden River”. These tracks present the improvising duo's spontaneous energy and in-the-moment-ness, as well as a traditional Japanese folk tune arranged by the duo.

Isach Skeidsvoll has made a name for himself as an expressive pianist in several bands and constellations in recent years. Some of these are General Post Office and his own septet Isach Skeidsvoll - Dance to Summon. Akira Sakata is a famous musician with a unique energetic expression. His first band saw today's sound in 1969. He has been active ever since, and has been with bands such as Yamashita Yosuke Trio, Arashi and Sakata Trio.
