This album is very special to me – and it's very different from my previous recordings.
I've taken eleven of my all-time favorite rock songs, by bands like Radiohead, Stone Temple Pilots, The Offspring, R.E.M., The Cure, and Lana Del Rey, and performed them as serious, melancholy, saloon song ballads. It's just soft piano, lush strings, and my voice, in the tradition of a 1950's Frank Sinatra Capitol Records concept album.
I've wanted to record this album for twenty years, and now it's finally here. I sincerely hope you enjoy it. Do me a favor, PLEASE read the liner notes below before you listen – and it wouldn't hurt to drink a cocktail or two, too.
