It's awards season and movie critics are buzzing over Ben Affleck's Argo, which chronicles the CIA's attempt to rescue six Americans during the Iran hostage crisis. But what really happened during the covert operation? And did the events really unfold as seen in the movie? In ARGO: Inside Story, Discovery Channel gains access to the top players involved to hear their side of the story, including the CIA's "chief of disguise," Tony Mendez, who was called upon to devise the rescue plan. The one-hour special gives an inside look at the dramatic escape and how Mendez forged identity documents and elaborate disguises to get past the security agents at the Tehran airport.

WAR AGAINST THE INDIANS is a really well-made documentary film. The sceneries are fascinating. I especially like all the interviewed people being Native Americans.Best of all is that the film includes so much traditional Native American wisdom about respect to everything that's alive, about the collective ownership of land and about people being part of land. I even recognised the fragment of Chief Seattle's speech.It was really touching to hear the Indians tell about the boarding-schools where the Whites wanted to assimilate them and they were even sexually abused. After all that it was abating to notice how important it was for many of them to be Indians.

There’s no question that “Arirang” is not a film for the casual viewer, and despite it having won the Un Certain Regard Award at Cannes, it’s also likely to nonplus art house aficionados and even some fans of Kim’s earlier works. Certainly, much of the film of it may not mean much to audiences unfamiliar with his career, and for his detractors will probably only serve to confirm criticisms of him being pretentious and aggressively obtuse. It is understandable that for many the film will seem self-indulgent, as for long stretches of its 100 minute running time it simply follows Kim as he goes about his daily business and his life in the rundown shack, which is so cold that he has to sleep in a tent when indoors.
