Martin Tingvall is on the road all over the world both as a solo pianist and with his trio. PA VÄG (English: on the way / on the way) is the program for this. The themes of the piece seem at the same time familiar, almost classical, but also groping, searching and full of surprises. The key of G sharp minor is unusual, but still lies well in the fingers. The jazzinotes edition authorized by Martin Tingvall is set note-for-note – with all the embellishments characteristic of the piece (especially the suggestion notes from the top of the main theme). The chord symbols are also noted in the solo. PA VÄG is the only piano solo piece from the otherwise trio-studded album VÄGEN, which immediately reached number 1 on the jazz charts when it was released in 2011 and stayed there for more than half a year. The sheet music booklet VÄGEN for the whole album is also available at jazzinotes, also as a digital version.
