Leif Strands Kammarkör was a Swedish chamber choir formed in the 1960s to integrate choir with traditional jazz. Originally released in 1974 on the audiophile label Proprius, this album features some of Sweden's top jazz musicians of the day including Arne Domnerus of Jazz at the Pawnshop fame.
Is this the line between folk and spiritual song? Between hymn to Christ's bride and the earthly love song? The border is not straight and clear, but on both sides lies a treasure of music and lyrics that we must have to stay alive - in our day and future , as an inheritance . . . Leif Strand and the musicians on this record, offer a kind of continuation of the sorrow and the joy.

This recording of Leif Strands Kammarkör with Claes Rosendhal, Arne Domnerus and Bengt Hallberg was transferred by 2xHD from the original ¼”, 15 ips CCIR master tape was played on a modified TELEFUNKEN M15 tape recorder with SAKI head, using a hi-end tube preamplifier with OCC silver cables. An analog transfer was done for each hi-res sampling and A & B comparisons were made with both the original LP, using the Kronos turntable, as well as with the best available CD, using the Nagra HD Dac and dCS Vivaldi DAC, throughout the process.
DSD was done using dCS 905 and dCS Vivaldi clock.
2xHD was created by producer/studio owner André Perry and audiophile sound engineer René Laflamme.
