The Connection - Let It Rock (2013)
    FLAC (tracks) 24 bit/44,1 kHz | Covers | 480 MB
Original Digital Download | Garage Rock / Power Pop

The Connection have found solid footing on "Let It Rock" compared to their earlier 7 inch releases. This outing finds them with a much fuller sound and less amateurish production. "Let It Rock" sounds like it was thought up and recorded in the 60's. That's a good thing because this is the kind of record you wanna play from beginning to end, cuddling next to a fire place. There's plenty of warm, analog goodness for any audiophile out there to appreciate.

Speaking of 'beginning to end" that's another unique quality of "Let It Rock", it's solid from start to finish. Quite honestly, that's a really hard thing for any album to accomplish nowadays.

This four-piece have been voted in having the "Coolest Song in the World" a whopping four times in one year by Bruce Springsteen guitarist and Sopranos fan favorite - Steve Van Zandt. I can pretty much end this review because when E-Street legend Zandt says your band- "Gets it", there's just very little for me to say.

The Connection - Let It Rock (2013) [Digital Download 24bit/44,1kHz]

The Rolling Stones took their name from a Muddy Waters song. The Connection, New England's newest hit-makers, have carried on the tradition, naming the band for a Stones rocker to bring fans across the world a fresh take on the best of the British Invasion sound. "Let It Rock" features a dozen original Marino/Palmer power-pop/rock gems. From the breakneck-paced opener, "Wrong Side of 25", to the seductive melody and breathtakingly cool guitar solo of Beatles-influenced "She's A Keeper", to the driving, Exile-era power of "Girls In This Town" – There's so many girls in this town/You can't let just one hold you down– to the infectious harmonies and pure, propulsive beauty of "The Way Love Should Be", The Connection bring passion, melodic hooks, and more than a few very cool surprises to this rip-roaring Rock & Roll record.

Yes, "Let It Rock" recaptures the sheer exuberance of the British Invasion, but make no mistake, The Connection sound like The Connection and no one else. "Let It Rock" is both familiar and fresh, timeless and new, an album of feel-good, time-to-dance, original Rock & Roll of the highest quality. Just a taste of the slide guitar driven screamer, "Thinking About Leaving", and you will be thinking about leaving "Let It Rock" on the turntable full-time!
