Henrik Lindstrand - Space Between (Extended Version) (2025) [Official Digital Download 24/48]

Swedish/Danish pianist and composer Henrik Lindstrand is set to release his fifth full-length album, Space Between The album features 10 evocative compositions that further cement Lindstrand’s reputation as a master of minimalistic and emotionally resonant music.

Following the success of his critically acclaimed piano trilogy (Leken, Nattresan, and Nordhem) and the expansive sonic palette of Klangland (2023), Space Between sees Lindstrand crafting a soundscape that embraces stillness, contrast, and subtlety. While his signature piano remains at the core, the album incorporates synth and organ layers, woodwinds, drums, strings, and moments of silence.

Inspired by the Japanese concept of Ma—the space between moments that creates meaning:
“I was fascinated by how Ma values not just the notes or movements, but the quiet spaces that frame them. With Space Between, I wanted to create music that breathes, inviting the listener to find meaning in its pauses as much as its melodies,” says Lindstrand.

Recorded with a refined approach, Space Between also draws inspiration from Lindstrand’s Scandinavian roots and connection to nature. Known for his ability to evoke powerful emotions through instrumental music, Lindstrand’s new album promises to take listeners on a journey that is both serene and profound.

The extended album version brings a fresh perspective with two reimagined piano takes, captured during a live video shoot in my studio with director Louis Kongshøj. Space Between revisits its original solo form with a more intimate, direct touch. In Churches strips away layers to expose the raw emotion beneath.

The final addition is a spacious, ambient rework of Neon Carousel - a brand new collaboration with electronic producer Kasper Bjørke that dissolves the track into something slow-burning and cinematic.
