2011's Collapse Into Now marks the fifteenth-and final-studio album from R.E.M.. Intentionally (but not publically) planned by the group to be their last work together, Collapse Into Now lyrically hints at R.E.M.'s disbanding, and was popularly considered to be a return to the "classic" R.E.M. sound. Recorded in four different cities: Berlin, New Orleans, Nashville and Portland, OR, Collapse features guest appearances by Patti Smith and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder.
