Raw in Amsterdam is Philip Lassiter's debut Color Red recording, a full-length LP recorded live in Amsterdam with a 13-piece band. Lassiter served as Prince's horn arranger and section leader during the New Power Generation era and Raw in Amsterdam is a collection of brand-new originals and fan favorites from previous albums reformatted with the robust live ensemble. Many of the tracks tip their hats to Prince himself with driving quarter-note grooves, syncopated guitar and bass lines, punctuated shout-like horn melodies, and layered vocal harmonies.

The album features guest appearances by rising vocalist Durand Bernarr, who is coming hot off the heels of a viral NPR Tiny Desk performance and internationally acclaimed Dutch saxophonist Candy Dulfer, who also performed with Prince during the Musicology era.

"The idea behind raw in Amsterdam is that it would take my new band based in the Netherlands and do a live video recording to show people what we look and sound like on stage. We recorded 12 songs in only six hours. It’s full of action packed funk jazz and soul featuring a 13 piece band. We have already released two singles. ' 'Purple', which is a tribute to Prince featuring Candy Dulfer and 'Bump The Man' featuring Durand Bernarr.
