This three-CD package from Sony Classical consists of Vladimir Horowitz's studio recordings of the piano music of Alexander Scriabin, recorded between 1950 and 1976 and previously issued by RCA Victor and Columbia Masterworks, along with several live recordings.

This week Daniel Hope began a series of 14 daily concerts live from his living room called Hope@Home. In these troubled times Hope invites artists and friends to his home in Berlin to join him for spontaneous mini-concerts (of course one after the other and keeping the required safety distance). “We need to and must stay home at this time”, says Hope. “But we also need to share music as a source of comfort and inspiration.”

This programme is truly a reflection of my three years as artist-in-residence at Royaumont and my artistic personality of the last years. Working with young composers is a passion for me – to study a completely new score, to discover the intentions of the composer through discussions, experimentation and sometimes just through being in their company, is something that is very important to me as the foundation of my work as a performer. The pieces that Annie Hui-Hsin Hsieh and Matthew Chamberlain wrote for me are great examples of this work, and although very different, they both speak to different parts of being a pianist.
