"Wisteria" takes a fresh look at several pieces last heard on record in Kuhn's orchestral Promises Kept collection - "Promises Kept" itself, "Adagio", "Morning Dew" and "Pastorale". Kuhn's compositions, few in number but robust and adaptable, have often lent themselves to quite different interpretations. If anything, these small group versions emphasize the emotional core of the material.

It contains some of the most refined Barber compositions on record to date including the haunting "Clues", the sultry "I Could Eat Your Words" and the beautiful and poetic "If I Were Blue". "Streams" is the second ECM album from Danish guitarist Jakob Bro as leader, featuring his pedigreed American trio members: bassist Thomas Morgan is known for his work with Paul Motian and John Abercrombie while drummer Joey Baron often backs Bill Frisell and John Zorn. Bro composed all the songs himself except for one track written by the three musicians.

Hungarian guitarist Ferenc Snétberger leads a trio comprising Swedish double bassist Anders Jormin and American drummer Joey Baron on the warm and involving album "Titok". Nine original improvised works as well as a reworking of Ernie Burnett and George Norton's Melancholy Baby, "39 Steps" features guitarist John Abercrombie, pianist Marc Copland, bassist Drew Gress, and drummer Joey Baron. This is Abercrombie's first recording since the 80's to feature a pianist, though Copland and Abercrombie have been playing together for nearly 40 years.
