1969: The Velvet Underground Live is a live album by the Velvet Underground. It was originally released as a double album in September 1974 by Mercury Records. The September 1988 CD re-release was issued as two separate single CD volumes, with one extra track per disc. Since many of the band's studio albums were out of print in the United States from the early 1970s through the mid-1980s, 1969 was one of the more popular albums by the band,[citation needed] and is a fan favorite.[citation needed] Spin magazine's Alternative Record Guide included it in the top 100 alternative albums of all time in 1995.

In popular mythology Haydn’s name is far less closely associated with the piano sonata than with the string quartet or symphony. Though a more than competent pianist (one writer in London described his playing of the brilliant fortepiano solo in the Symphony No 98 as ‘neat and distinct’), he was by his own admission no ‘wizard’ on the keyboard, and unlike Mozart and Beethoven never wrote sonatas for his own performance. Yet the keyboard remained central to Haydn’s creative process. His morning routine would invariably begin with him trying out ideas, for whatever medium, on the clavichord, the harpsichord or, from the 1780s, the fortepiano; and he composed prolifically for keyboard through most of his adult life, beginning with the harpsichord works he produced for aristocratic pupils during his ‘galley years’ in Vienna and culminating in the three great sonatas (Nos 50–52 in Hoboken’s catalogue) inspired by the sonorous Broadwood instruments he encountered on his London visits.

On the occasion of the 150th birthday of the father of musical modernism, we, in collaboration with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and its chief conductor Fabio Luisi, announce our plans to record the most extensive edition of Schoenberg's works for and with orchestra that has ever been produced. The project, which will include over ten hours of music, will be released in a loose sequence until the end of the decade. This recording project makes it possible to rediscover a fascinating composer in the overall picture, who concerns us more than ever and whose music touches and enriches us.

This popular North Mississippi singer-guitarist is a master of dirty juke-joint blues. But Burnside was a farm hand when these late ’60s recordings captured him developing his staples "Goin’ Down South," "Jumper On the Line," "Poor Black Mattie," and "Long Haired Doney"–and his playing style–in bare-boned acoustic form. Burnside practically cries over the roiling John Lee Hooker-influenced guitar lines of the heartbroken "Like a Bird Without a Feather," which he’s never again recorded, winning sympathy until he admits that he murdered his lost lover. In "Skinny Woman," covered recently by the North Mississippi Allstars, he offsets the rippling picking style associated with John Hurt by beating his knuckles against his six-string’s body.

Voices is a studio album by American bassist Gary Peacock featuring drummer Hiroshi Murakami, percussist Masahiko Togashi, and pianist Masabumi Kikuchi. The album was recorded in Tokyo in 1971 and released via Sony Records label.
