Some twenty years after the collection known as Das wohltemperierte Klavier J.S. Bach assembled his second collection of twenty-four preludes and fugues in all keys, completing one of the greatest achievements in keyboard music that today remains one of the crowning glories of the genre.

Following his acclaimed recording of Jean-Philippe Rameau’s complete solo keyboard works (RES10214), harpsichordist Steven Devine returns to Resonus to record one of the great pinnacles of the Baroque keyboard repertoire, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Das wohltemperierte Klavier (The Well-Tempered Clavier).

This digital compilation by German Nagel Heyer Records features the tracks previously released as "Jimmy Raney & Sonny Clark ‎Together" (LP '1954), "Cliff Jordan - Cliff Craft" (LP '1957) and live jam sessions at Basel, Switzerland on February 4, 1954.

In their second album for Resonus, the Gould Piano Trio returns with a recording of Franz Schubert’s Piano Trios. Apart from a very early single movement written when he was fifteen years of age, Schubert came to the piano trio late in his short career and left only two full-length works in the form, written in 1827–8. By the time Schubert came to write his piano trios, the form had taken on a new stature thanks to work from composers such as Beethoven.

Making their debut on Resonus with a ravishing programme of ‘Songs of Love and Death’ by Robert Schumann is the critically acclaimed duo of baritone Simon Wallfisch and pianist Edward Rushton. Alongside what is perhaps Schumann’s best-known Wanderlieder song series, Dichterliebe, Op. 48, from 1840, this distinguished pairing have explored two further series from Schumann’s notoriously productive ‘Liederjahr’ of 1840 – his Op. 35 setting of twelve poems by Justinus Kerner, and the Fünf Lieder, Op. 40, containing four songs by Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen.

Already hailed as his country's foremost composer, Sibelius completed what was to be his only concerto in early 1904, and its spellbinding and instantly recognisable opening can surely be counted amongst the most iconic of any. A virtuosic violinist himself, Sibelius beautifully evokes Finland's natural landscape and ancient folklore, which continues through Sibelius's 1917 work for violin and orchestra – the Six Humoresques – demanding a considerable level of technique.

Nonesuch Records releases its second album from pianist Tigran Hamasyan, "An Ancient Observer". The album is the follow-up to Hamasyan's label debut, "Mockroot", of which the Guardian said, "A phenomenal piano player, an irrepressible entertainer, a promising experimenter with hi-tech gizmology and a creative world-music composer. Mockroot plays vivaciously to all those strengths". The musician says of his new solo recording, which features ten new compositions: "These songs are musical observations about the world we live in now, and the weight of history we carry with us".

"Together At Last" is an album by songwriter and guitarist Jeff Tweedy. It features the Wilco bandleader performing eleven of his own songs, culled from the Wilco catalog as well as from side-projects Loose Fur and Golden Smog, in a solo acoustic setting. Recorded at Tweedy’s Chicago recording studio The Loft, "Together At Last" showcases Tweedy’s accomplished and intricate guitar playing and his expressive, plaintive voice, and while audiences have experienced Tweedy live onstage as a solo performer for years, this is the first studio recording of its kind for the acclaimed musician.

Double Bassist Eric Revis expands his concepts in this outstanding album with fellow New Yorkers, pianist Kris Davis and drummer Chad Taylor, and Chicago reedist Ken Vandermark on tenor saxophone, with all four players providing compositions that push the limit on structure and form while opening up the players to superb soloing settings of great modern jazz.
