Lorenzo Buffa is an Italian double bass player and composer, passionate about the jazz tradition and open to contemporary influences. With an eclectic background and a career spanning from Milan to Amsterdam, 'Conversational Skills,' the first album recorded under his own name, marks a significant step in his musical evolution. The musical dialogue extends to 8 original tracks, in which Buffa collaborates with talented musicians such as Lucas Martinez on saxophone, Massimo Imperatore on guitar, Xia Jia on piano and Guy Salamon on drums.

Gregory Groover's Criss Cross debut, recorded on the Boston born-and-bred tenor saxophonist's thirtieth birthday, is a tour de force. Joined by a bespoke sextet of his favorite players, all New York-based, Groover presents a recital of 11 original tone-parallels to family and friends, his intentions anticipated, illuminated and fulfilled by his gifted bandmates.

Mirror Mirror is the new album by the Finnish jazz legend, pianist-composer Olli Ahvenlahti. Championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson and Kenny Dope, Ahvenlahti is a master of hard-grooving jazz funk. Here, he continues the evolution of his style, much-beloved since the legendary 1970s albums such as The Poet and Bandstand. Ahvenlahti's new group highlights some of the best talent on the Finnish scene, including trumpeter Jukka Eskola, saxophonist Joonatan Rautio, bassist Ville Herrala and drummer Jaska Lukkarinen.

We are honored to present a transcendent collaboration between four musicians who begin from different places but arrive as one. Karl-Martin Almqvist, Nduduzo Makhathini, Magne Thormodsæter, and Ayanda Sikade form Ababhemu Quartet, and present their new album The Travelers on April 19, 2024. An accomplished versatile virtuoso baritone saxophone player, Chicago native Dave Schumacher has been a mainstay on the New York jazz scene for more than forty years. His big, bold baritone first came to international attention during the eighties, spending much of those years touring the world with Lionel Hampton’s Orchestra. Schumacher garnered further notice following that with nearly two decades as a member of the orchestra of Harry Connick, Jr. In the 90's he also toured with T.S. Monk’s Monk on Monk band and the Tom Harrell Octet, as well as freelance work with many others in New York and on the road.

Three of a Kind is the first eponymous album of a three-headed group comprised of some of the best French Jazz musicians living in New York City, who surprisingly had never really played together before: guitarist Michael Valeanu, saxophonist Jon Boutellier and bassist Clovis Nicolas.

A spirit lovingly captured by trombonist Natalie Cressman and guitarist Ian Faquini within their new GroundUP album GUINGA, releasing on April 12, 2024.

“How often do we step back and realize what a gift it is to have this music in our life?” asks acclaimed trumpeter, composer and Greenleaf Music founder Dave Douglas. On Gifts, his newest Greenleaf project, Douglas harnesses that feeling of simple wonder with a new book of pieces and four intriguing takes on Strayhorn songs, premiering a new quartet with poll-sweeping tenor saxophonist James Brandon Lewis and two members of the Oscar-nominated post-rock trio Son Lux: guitarist Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang. The sound is harmonically spacious, with no bass, but a full, sonically adventurous guitar palette from Bhatia that frames the group’s trumpet-tenor melodic concept in fresh and unexpected ways.

Born to parents of Senegalese, Gambian, and Malian descent, and hailing from the outskirts of Paris, the multitalented Gadiaga has been making waves in the UK music industry since she moved to London aged 18.

Steve was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa in 1960 and completed a B Mus degree in performance at the University of Natal in 1981, majoring in saxophone and flute. As of October 1st 2023 Steve has just finished producing his 10th solo project called "Enhlizweni - song stories from my heartland". This project is the second release from newly formed label AricArise, a joint collaboration between Ropeadope and City Of Gold Arts.

In 2023, the newly formed band Hamrå Orchestra stepped into the Tonkontroll studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, and recorded nine newly composed compositions with sound engineer Åke Linton. After mastering by Hans Ohlsson at Svenska Grammophonstudion, the music is now released by Prophone Records/Naxos.
