Heaven knows why Ryan Adams decided to release three albums in the calendar year of 2005. He's always been prolific to a fault, boasting about completed unreleased albums when his latest work was just seeing the light of day, but he never saturated the market with new material the way he did in 2005, when it seemed he was trying to break Robert Pollard's record for most music released within a year.

Copenhagen group Girls in Airport is in fine form on Fables, its fourth release, and first on the Edition Records label. There are fewer big tunes than before although the band's trademark melodic hooks and rhythmic drive, its understated lyricism and hypnotic grooves are all present in abundance. What's been brought into sharper focus is the emotional currency in the writing and a narrative thread that seems to flow through these nine compositions. Significantly too, the percussive bite that Victor Dybbroe brought to Migration (Gateway Music, 2011) and Kaikoura (Gateway Music, 2013) contributes greatly to an intoxicating fusion of meditative lyricism and shamanistic funk.

"Beautiful Noise" is the third album by Neil Diamond on Columbia Records (tenth studio album overall), released in 1976. "Dry Your Eyes" was performed with The Band at their farewell show and is featured in Martin Scorsese's The Last Waltz. Beautiful Noise marked a radical departure in production, style, arrangements and compositional diversity for Diamond. It was billed at the time of its release as something of a "comeback" album for the artist, and did mark a new and highly productive phase of his recording and touring career.

No doubt many of you are wondering whether I should be recording Bach’s complete sonatas and partitas at the age of only 21. Perhaps I should have waited a bit longer? Well, patience has seldom been my strong point, and after all I have already waited a number of years for an opportunity to record these works. During the first six years of study with my teacher Ana Chumachenco, I studied the sonatas and partitas thoroughly, and first performed both cycles in their entirety in the Bach year 2000, during the course of two evenings at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.

Old hand Peter Neumann recorded Mozart's Missa Solemnis KV 337 once before. Neumann is an authenticist that uses a period band. This recording is twice as good as the one he made previously, a rendition that included the organ sonata KV 336 between the Gloria and Credo sections, as he has done here.

Love Is Hell is the fifth studio album by alternative country artist Ryan Adams, released on May 4, 2004. The album was originally released as two EPs, Love Is Hell pt. 1 and Love Is Hell pt. 2, at the insistence of Lost Highway, who deemed that the album was not commercially viable. A full-length version of the album was released when the EPs proved to be more of a commercial success than anticipated.

Though the two bars of bass of a certain celebrated 'Canon' have made Pachelbel probably the most widely performed composer in the streets of the whole world, this sparkling programme invites you to make new discoveries in his oeuvre. It is built around suites (Partien) for two violins and continuo, from the Musikalische Ergötzung. The title means musical delight , and indeed one cannot but be ravished by the extraordinary sonic hedonism displayed by these works, the most important surviving testimony to the instrumental output of Pachelbel. A few songs, sung by Hans-Jörg Mammel, written for special occasions add further spice to this wonderfully free music.

A strange phenomenon with anthemic hard rock bands is that when they begin to mature and branch out into new musical genres, they nearly always choose to embrace both the music and spirituality of the East and India, and Pearl Jam is no exception.

Christmas presents a golden opportunity to present brand new music to wide audiences, and the role played by St John s College Choir in this area has been significant, as demonstrated by this new recording of contemporary choral works. Featuring two works commissioned by the choir Judith Bingham s 'The Clouded Heaven' and Michael Finnissy s 'John the Baptist'.

The Reno Youth Jazz Orchestra (RYJO) is a nonprofit organization established in 2006.
