After a second album with disappointing sales, Holmes was summoned by the Epic brass. “Just give me singles,” they told him. So, he gave them Singles. He consciously wrote the album with the Top 40 in mind, and if the songs lacked some of the specificity of his work on the previous two LPs, they were no less clever and memorable. “Who, What, When, Where, Why” would become one of his most-recorded songs, with Dionne Warwick, The Tymes and Manhattan Transfer all having a crack at it. “I Don’t Want to Get Over You” was intended to be a Four Seasons tribute, and if that doesn’t quite come across except in the streetwise lyrics, it’s still pure Holmes-style seventies pop/rock with its insistent chorus (“I don’t want to get over you/Don’t want to no happy endin’/I feel better pretendin’ we ain’t through”) and airy, reflective verses.

In September 2017, Universal Music announced the release of Standards. Seal said of the album: "This is the album I have always wanted to make. I grew up listening to music from the Rat Pack era, so recording these timeless tunes was a lifelong dream. It was a true honour to collaborate with the same musicians who performed with Frank Sinatra and so many of my favourite artists, in the very same studios where the magic was first made – it was one of the greatest days of my recording career."

Best of the 20th Century Boy, it's another retrospective hits compilation. Against all odds, this 20-track disc really is an "ultimate collection," or at least as close as it can possibly get, given the labyrinthine nature of Bolan's catalog.

While without a doubt Saracen are part of the legendary NWOBHM movement, when it comes to describing their music, it's not that easy anymore. Epic symphonic rock? AOR? Melodic metal? Progressive rock? Actually all these labels would be fine. Saracen's debut album entitled 'Heroes, Saints And Fools' came out in 1981, and quickly became a cult classic of its own class, and on own terms. The band disbanded in 1985 (and returned in full glory almost two decades later), but before that, managed to release one more album, 'Change Of Heart', in 1984.

With this project of such high quality of song material and collaborators, he was to describe the album in his autobiography as his "all time favorite record". Johnny Mandel was the musical director, and he and Neal Hefti and Quincy Jones arranged and conducted their own compositions on the album. Luiz Bonfá played the guitar on his two songs, "Samba de Orfeu" and "The Gentle Rain". The pianists Tommy Flanagan, Jimmy Rowles and Lou Levy all collaborated, each on one song. Bennett's recording of "The Shadow of Your Smile" won Mandel and Paul Francis Webster the Grammy Award for Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards of 1966, and Bennett performed the song at the 38th Academy Awards, where it won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

"Blind Before I Stop" is a 1986 album by Meat Loaf. The album was produced in Germany by Frank Farian and was the first to fully embrace the '80s sound. Critics were concerned about the album missing the characteristic Steinman-influenced sound by incorporating synth chords and samples. According to Meat Loaf's 1998 autobiography, he would have preferred to wait to work with more Steinman material, but his contractual obligations with Arista required him to complete two more albums by the end of the 1980s, including this album and a live album.
