Frames is the new album and Miho Hazama’s fourth release on Edition, reinforcing her standing as a composer and conductor of international recognition. Based in New York, Hazama has built a career defined by detailed large-ensemble writing, long-range musical thinking, and vividly articulated orchestration. Her work spans through Japan, Europe and the US, with projects for the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, the Danish Radio Big Band, and Metropole Orkest. With her BBC Proms debut confirmed for 2025, her compositional voice continues to expand in scale and authority, qualities clearly evident throughout Frames. The album returns her to close collaboration with the Danish Radio Big Band, echoing the creative relationship first established on her Edition debut Imaginary Visions (2021).

Delivering these leaders’ inspirational words are modern icons including Rev. Calvin O. Butts III, Patricia Clarkson, Glenn Close, Keith David, Morgan Freeman, Mario Van Peebles, and Alfre Woodard.

Nils Berg has been a cornerstone of the Swedish jazz scene since the turn of the millennium. Known internationally as an innovative bandleader and collaborator, this release places the spotlight — for the first time — on Berg’s work as a composer for large ensemble. Turku Jazz Festival Artist of the Year 2026 Henri Lyysaari is a versatile composer, pianist and conductor from Turku, whose music combines the rhythmic energy of jazz with a story-like, orchestral soundscape. The festival's gala concert is also the release of Lyysaari and Turku Jazz Orchestra's new album The Labyrinth Garden - an ambitious ensemble that brings together Lyysaari's big band compositions from the past eight years.

Colors of a Journey" is a full-length work by New York-based trumpeter/arranger Naoya Ogura. This is a big band work produced with world-class top players, who gathered together to "play this music" and immerse themselves in Ogura's musical world with overwhelming performance skills and passion. The arrangements of five originals and four standards, each featuring the distinctive personality of each player, including bassist Joe Martin, captivate the audience with their contemporary and colorful sound, while keeping the jazz tradition in mind. The fantastic melody of the opening track, "Moon," evokes emotion and excitement, taking the listener on a grand sonic journey throughout the album. Riot Jazz Brass Band return with their 4th studio album, dedicated to what they do best - making people happy!

For their 2nd album, “United”, while searching for a creative way to combine both modern- and traditional jazz music, Dutch Jazz Collective (DJC) invited trombonist Ilja Reijngoud and tenor saxophonist Paul Heller, who both composed and arranged the charts for this album. It turns out to be a match made in heaven. It proves once more how effortlessly DJC combines both the modern and traditional styles of big band music. Unity is an essential part of making music - and society as a whole. In times like this it seems to be more relevant than ever.
