"After the Wildfire" is a composition that was commissioned by the Skopje Jazz Festival for the opening of its 42nd edition in 2023 with the two composers Arve Henriksen and Jan Bang as soloists together with guitarist Eivind Aarset and percussion player Ingar Zach.

Popular sociology cliches notwithstanding, the middle years are a curious bridge to survey one’s life from. Especially for artists. The bank behind is a backlog of experience, for-better-or-worse perceptions of how the world works, unequal measures of laurels and regrets, plus a rolodex of dear ones (for the lucky) and lost ones (for all). The shore in front contains a shorter winding road (still loaded with possibilities if not quite as open-ended), informed by wisdom gained and failures seared, shadowed by mortality, responsibility and inevitability.

Daniel Stelter is a guitarist who is unrivalled in his artistic diversity, brilliance and activity. Homogeneous is the third studio album by Icelandic artist Björk.

Sam was the very popular tenor player behind Louis Prima's best recordings of the 50s – and although he was never given his due as a full-time honker and shouter, he actually played a pretty mean horn when he wanted to, which he does to full effect on this Capitol set from the late 50s. The overall style is a mix of ballads and more rollicking numbers, with Sam's horn in front, and the Witnesses hitting a choppy groove on tunes that are more often done as ballads. Titles include "Hey There", "Three Coins In The Fountain", "I Love Paris", "All The Way", and "Too Young".

To the Ivy League from Nat is an album by jazz cornetist Nat Adderley released on the EmArcy label featuring performances by Adderley with his brother Cannonball Adderley, Junior Mance, Sam Jones/Al McKibbon, and Charles "Specs" Wright with arrangements by Ernie Wilkins.

Alessandro Quarta presents "The 5 Elements", a musical composition that brings the five classical elements of Earth, water, air, Fire and ether to life. The opera, consisting of six pieces, takes the audience on an emotional journey that takes up the ancient ideas of the Greeks about beauty and constancy. Quarta considers the elements both in their positive and destructive power. Each element is musically embodied by specific chords and motifs – for example, the tranquility of the Earth in C minor or the unpredictable power of fire in A minor.

Nat King Cole at the Piano is the first studio album by jazz pianist Nat King Cole, released by Capitol in 1950. This album was recorded on August 13, 1947, released in a 78 r.p.m. record in 1949, and reissued in 1950 on a 10-inch LP.
