Springsteen said "I was so excited after playing on that tour, I'd get off the stage and go write, then I put those songs on the shelf for a while, until I had a chance to revisit them". Springsteen's first release of all-new material since his September 11-themed, double platinum certified 'The Rising' in July 2002. The record reached number 1 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart.

"The Promise" is a compilation album of Bruce Springsteen. Is a collection of previously unreleased tracks from the 1977-’78 recording sessions include long-missed studio versions of such live standards as “Because the Night”, “Fire”, and Springsteen’s most celebrated outtake, “The Promise”. Finished in some cases with modern vocals and additional instrumentation, they form a “lost album” between "Born to Run" and "Darkness". The album features one of the last appearances of Clarence Clemons before his death in June 2011.

Chapter and Verse is the audio companion to Bruce Springsteen's autobiography, Born to Run, arriving in bookstores in September 2016. Springsteen selected the songs on Chapter and Verse to reflect the themes and sections of 'Born to Run'. The compilation begins with two tracks from The Castiles, featuring a teenaged Springsteen on guitar and vocals, and ends with the title track from 2012's Wrecking Ball. Five of the album's eighteen tracks are previously unreleased. The collected songs trace Springsteen's musical history from its earliest days, telling a story that parallels the one in the book, and is a must for any Bruce Springsteen fan.

Springsteen pays tribute to Woody Guthrie with a set-opening, debut cover of "Tom Joad" on Akron 9/25/96. Even without playing the title track, Akron captures one of Bruce's purest performances on The Ghost Of Tom Joad tour. When news first emerged in late 1989 that the E Street Band had been dismissed indefinitely by Bruce Springsteen, it began nine years of uncertainty and speculation as to when, if ever, they would join forces again. They did come back together to record new material for Greatest Hits in 1995 and undertook a small series of promotional appearances in support of it, but the fact that they parted ways again without touring only made the odds of a full return feel even longer.

Looking to do something special for fans on the final leg of the Working On A Dream tour, Springsteen elects to revisit full classic albums in-sequence. Philadelphia October 14, 2009 showcases Darkness On The Edge Of Town and includes standout performances of "Something In The Night," "Streets Of Fire" and "Prove It All Night." Beyond Darkness, the 26-song set opens on a high note with vintage barnstormer "Thundercrack," and features the only live version to date of Working On A Dream gem "What Love Can Do," plus "Sherry Darling," "Human Touch," "Long Walk Home" and a special "Gonna Fly Now" trumpet solo intro to "Rosalita.

Recorded in New Jersey, LA, Atlanta, Australia and New York City, High Hopes marks Springsteen's 18th studio album and features the members of the E Street Band as well as guitarist Tom Morello. The album features his latest single "High Hopes." Clarence Clemons, who passed away in 2011, and Danny Federici, who passed away in 2008, also appear on several songs of what Springsteen calls “some of our best unreleased material from the past decade”.
