Founded in 2013, The Fourth Choir decided to celebrate our tenth anniversary season by launching a campaign to raise funds to record our first album: “Songs of Ourselves” is the result.

The composer João Marcondes will release the album Afro-Brazilian Suite Ancestry for Harp, Cello and Clarinet, on September 19, by Azul Music. On the disc, his work is performed by Sole Yaya (harp), Marialbi Trisolio (cello) and Ovanir Buosi (clarinet).

"Music from the Time of Boccaccio's Decameron" is a 1969 Philips LP by the early music ensemble Musica Reservata, directed by John Beckett and with Michael Morrow as musical director. The album features 14th-century Italian music, including works by Francesco Landini. The title refers to the period of Giovanni Boccaccio's famous work, The Decameron (1349–1353), and the music performed is contemporary to that era

Golden Apples is a prolific group of musicians formed and heralded by singer and songwriter Russell Edling. "Eternamente Omara" is the new album by Omara Portuondo, one of the great divas of Cuban music and an essential figure in the history of Latin American music in the 20th and 21st centuries. Born in Havana in 1930, her artistic career spans more than 75 years, from her first steps in the legendary Tropicana cabaret to the most prestigious stages in the world. Known as "the filin's girlfriend," she has been a fundamental voice in the evolution of this genre, combining the emotional depth of the bolero with the harmonies of jazz and Cuban song. At 94, she releases a new album that includes collaborations with artists such as Nathy Peluso, Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo López, and Angelique Kidjo.

Two-time GRAMMY® award-winning artist Zach Williams returns with the brand new, full-length album Jesus Loves, his most personal and powerful project to date. Antonio Vivaldi was a great violinist, as was his father, Giovanni Battista Vivaldi. It is no coincidence that Antonio Vivaldi’s first publication op. 1 in 1705 was a collection of sonatas for two violins and basso continuo. He dedicated most of his instrumental output to the violin, writing sonatas for one or two violins and concerti for up to four solo violins further writing compositions where the violin appears as a second main character alongside other instruments or voice. The violin constitutes a kind of nucleus in the art of Vivaldi congruent to his mastery of idiomatic violin technique, but he also had a deep and intimate understanding of the human voice.

Star-violinist Christian Tetzlaff, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor John Storgårds present Elgar's passionate violin concerto, completed in 1910. This huge and highly emotional work was in the wake of modernism neglected for several decades before entering into standard concerto repertoire. Here Christian Tetzlaff follows the model of the early recordings of Elgar’s concerto with substantially quicker tempos compared to most modern recordings, and having a great influence on the impact of the piece.

The Symphony in D minor is the best-known orchestral work and the only mature symphony written by the 19th-century composer César Franck. It employs a cyclic form, with important themes recurring in all three movements.

Murray Abraham joins Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for Honeck’s dramatic conception of “Requiem: Mozart’s Death in Words and Music.” Over a decade ago, Honeck contemporized Mozart’s epic masterpiece by incorporating text into the score. F. Murray Abraham, Manfred Honeck, and the Orchestra previously performed “Requiem: Mozart’s Death in Words and Music” at Heinz Hall in 2012 and at Carnegie Hall in 2014.
