Cadillac Woman finds Isao Suzuki at one of the most intriguing junctions in his long career. Known primarily as a formidable jazz bassist who helped shape the post‑bop and fusion scenes in Japan, Suzuki here leans decisively into crossover territory. Originally released in the late 1970s, the album takes the virtuosity and harmonic sophistication of his earlier work and routes it through the smoother contours of jazz‑funk, fusion and soul, creating a sound that feels equally at home in an audiophile’s listening room and on a crowded dancefloor. It is a record that wears its polish with ease but never loses the sense of curiosity that has always driven Suzuki’s music.

On My Spare Time, Isao Suzuki steps out front on piccolo bass in a luminous set of standards and ballads, wrapping bossa, Ellington and songbook classics in a warm, conversational post‑bop glow with some of Japan’s finest players. Recorded in 1978 at Tokyo’s Onkio Haus studio, My Spare Time offers a beautifully unhurried portrait of Isao Suzuki away from the more hard‑driving, electric settings that made his name. Here the master bassist focuses on acoustic colour and song form, leading a small ensemble through a carefully chosen set of standards that range from Jobim’s “Wave” and Ellington’s “Solitude” to “A Child Is Born,” “Killing Me Softly with Her Song,” “Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair,” “Good Morning Heartache” and “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life.” Across these seven tunes, Suzuki favours his singing piccolo bass, using its higher register not as a novelty but as a lyrical frontline voice, while Nobuyoshi Ino’s acoustic bass anchors the harmonic floor.

An Evening With Yellow Pills (Live @ Beat Kitchen, Chicago, IL, March 17th 2025) is a live album by the Chicago-based project Yellow Pills, led by musician Ryan Miera. Released on April 3, 2026, via Mint 400 Records, the album captures a performance from St. Patrick's Day 2025 at the Beat Kitchen.

Fusion is a new album of spontaneous band improvisations recorded live in studio. While this is a departure from most of our studio material, these recordings represent an aspect of what Zen Carnival has always done together, and we’re really pleased to be able to properly record some of these experiences and share them with the world!

Finnish global folk pioneers Piirpauke released their iconic debut album in 1975 and are now celebrating their 50th anniversary with founder, Sakari Kukko, leading a hot new quartet through jazz-inflected arrangements of folk-rooted classical music.

Airto's second album, and second and last release for the Buddah label, brought back largely the same crew that appeared on his debut record Natural Feelings (also reissued by Real Gone): vocalist (and wife) Flora Purim, composer and multi-instrumentalist Hermeto Pascoal, and bassist Ron Carter, with contributions from Dom Um Ramão (who later replaced Airto in Weather Report) and Severino De Oliveira a.k.a. Sivuca. Given Airto's connections to Miles Davis, Weather Report, and Return to Forever, Seeds on the Ground could easily get lumped into the jazz fusion category. But that would be a mistake.

For the first time in full a unique anthology of Hungarian TV and radio recordings by the legendary guitarist Gábor Szabó, captured during his return visits to Budapest in 1974, 1978, and 1981. This historic collection documents the deeply personal reconnection of an exiled artist with his homeland, bridging musical worlds and emotional landscapes.

We all have beacons of light in our lives, things we cannot be without. For Swedish guitarist Alf Carlsson, he has made the choice to dedicate his debut record under his own name to the most luminous of his personal lights, music. A modern amalgamation of jazz, rock, and Swedish folk music, ‘Lights’ is set to release on the 1st of September on Naxos Prophone Records. Carlsson picked up the guitar at the age of 10, and spent his youth soaking up as much rock, pop, and jazz as he could. In his teenage years, with hair down to his waist and Metallica posters coating his bedroom walls, his parents took him to a Swedish folk music festival. The experience moved him deeply, and he’s revisited the festival every year since.

Electrical Field of Love is the brilliant new release from Harriet Tubman – the long-running trio of guitarist Brandon Ross, bassist Melvin Gibbs, and drummer JT Lewis, joined here by the fervent voice and imagination of Grammy-nominee Georgia Anne Muldrow. Described as “black music at its best” by NPR, Tubman has been a band that creates its unique sound world through its exploration of all tributaries of what the Art Ensemble of Chicago called “Great Black Music, Ancient to the Future.” Jazz, funk, psychedelia, doom metal, soul, dub, and electronics are just some of what the group amalgamates through their creative process into its own mystical brew. Into this vortex enters Muldrow, whose shared devotion to exploring black music in all of its multivariate forms melds seamlessly into the Tubman sensibility. She moves freely within the music, with her voice by turns incantatory, declarative, and spectral. Moments of raw propulsion resolve to space and rare beauty. Through collective creativity, the convergence of these kindred spirits results in music that feels both deeply grounded and yet, inspiringly exploratory.

Into the Blue is the debut album by singer and composer Clarissa Forster released on Unit Records Alpha Edition. Moving between chamber jazz, contemporary songwriting and open forms, the music unfolds through reduced gestures, shifting perspectives and an ongoing dialogue between structure and openness.

A powerful transatlantic convergence, "Live At The Blue Note New York" captures Theon Cross's electrifying US debut at the legendary club-one of the first jazz albums recorded there in over two decades. Featuring standout performances by Isaiah Collier, James Russell Sims, and Nikos Ziarkas, this live set channels deep musical chemistry into a bold, spiritual statement of modern jazz.

With “5th Dimension,” Düsseldorf-based guitarist Philipp Wisser presents an album that distills contemporary jazz into a clear, stripped-down essence. Over two years, his quartet — Christoph Klenner, Conrad Noll, and Daniel Guerrero — developed a repertoire that sounds reflective, energetic, and open. Recorded live and without overdubs, the music captures a band that combines structural clarity with a willingness to take risks. On the title track, Vincent Pinn adds a distinctive color on flugelhorn.

Alm is an instrumental trio based in berlin consisting of Steven Moser (drums), Seth Sjöström (Bass) and Carlo Dayyani (Guitar). On March 13th, they will be releasing their self-titled debut EP consisting of 5 tracks. Their music is strongly shaped by the repetitive and minimalist patterns of the ambient genre with a core in the contemporary jazz world. In the music they seek to create an ego free, vulnerable and slowmoving soundscape where every little sound is given space and importance. The sparse compositions leave room for a collective exploration of interplay and sound.
