Emmy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, and composer Ingrid Michaelson releases 1st new solo record in five years. "I haven't released a full-length solo record since 2019," Michaelson said. "I really wanted to put something out in the world that felt a little different from what I had released before, but also kind of a returning home. Something a little quieter, something a little hopeful, something for those of us who can't help but keep dreaming despite the darkness, and all under the sonic umbrella of the vintage vibes of decades past. The cantatas Ehre sei Gott in der Hohe (BWV 197. 1), Alles, was von Gott geboren (BWV 80. 1) and Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied (BWV 190. 1) have also only survived in fragments - and yet they fascinate us with their musical power.

Her pieces speak of longing for a home, of utopian places, of doubts, of an intense connection to nature. They are the results of a personal inner "odyssey" as she wrote: "a search for deeper connections, a pursuit of the beautiful and the cathartic in the search for finding one’s place in the world."

Last Summer, Daniel Foggin, guitarist, writer and chief architect of Smote, uprooted himself from his usual home in Newcastle to live and work in a farmhouse in Kelso, near the Scottish border. “Through the summer when I was working up there, myself and Rob (Smote drummer) would finish work and go sit by a small river and have a couple of beers in the sun, and it was the best thing ever” he relates “So I guess the philosophy is that to some people it looks like any other stream, but to us it was supreme happiness. That can be applied to a lot of things in life”.

British pop’s defining record of the 1990’s, "Parklife" became part of the national consciousness, English vocabulary and was the first of five consecutive number one albums for Blur. Produced by Stephen Street, the album continued the lyrical themes of its predecessor, but stylistically reaching further afield featuring torch song balladry, instrumental waltzes, disco and angular new wave. Parklife garnered Blur two top ten singles, four Brit Awards and Classic Album status.

Recorded during Blur’s rapid rise in popularity and tabloid recognition, the third and final chapter in what was referred to as the band’s “life trilogy” sees the band present a dark and lavish look at the modern world, populated by night-shift cab drivers, factory workers, lottery players and swinging couples. Justly awarded five star reviews on release in 1995, the album features Blur’s first number 1 single, “Country House” and the beautiful “The Universal”.

Organist Clare Fischer pulls out all the stops on this album as he takes on the Yamaha EX-42 electric organ, joined by two of the West Coast’s best known sidemen, bassist Andy Simpkins and drummer Larry Bunker. The material here runs the gamut from Gershwin to Monk to Latin-tinged numbers, with Fischer’s dense chords fleshing out these tunes. Fischer's influence can be felt on a wide range of modern music: with 11 Grammy nominations, he arranged for the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Al Jarreau, Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson and enjoyed a many-year collaboration with Prince, writing some 40 orchestral arrangements. This album was originally released as "T'DA-A-A!" in 1972.

When "Flowers" saw the sale of four million copies after its release in Europe, Asia and Africa on June 15, 1998. Arista Records decided to release a different version of the album in the North America and Japan, re-titled "Cruel Summer". This version of the album featured the new track 'Everytime It Rains' and many new versions of songs featured on "Flowers".

In these sessions, Laurance explores the dynamic performance capabilities and diverse sound characteristics of the Rhodes MK8 piano through four original compositions, ranging from swing to indie rock. Recorded at The Nave studio in Pudsey, UK, these live recordings demonstrate the MK8’s versatility and appeal to musicians across various styles and genres.
