The Name of This Band Member is Tina is a compilation album by the American rock band Talking Heads, released on October 7, 2026, via Warner Records LLC. The compilation consists of 10 songs and has a total runtime of 43 minutes. The release heavily references the band's famous 1982 live album, The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads, while putting the spotlight on their iconic bassist, Tina Weymouth.

Three CD set featuring all of the recordings by progressive rock band High Tide. Featuring the albums 'sea shanties', 'high tide' and an additional cd of demos and studio out-takes recorded in 1969 and 1970. Formed in London in 1969, High Tide featured the intense guitar playing of Tony Hill (formerly with The Misunderstood), the violin and keyboard skills of Simon House, bassist Peter Pavli and drummer Roger Hadden. The band was managed by Clearwater, also home to Hawkwind, Skin Alley and Cochise and were signed to Liberty Records soon after their formation. Their debut album, the stunning 'Sea Shanties' was recorded at Olympic studios and some of the heaviest gothic psychedelic rock record ever recorded. Issued in a striking sleeve designed by artist Paul Whitehead, the album is now regarded as a true classic of the era. Their second album, 'High Tide', was recorded in 1970 and was another wonderful work.

Terje Rypdal is an album by Norwegian jazz guitarist Terje Rypdal recorded over two days in August 1971 and released on ECM later that year. The septet features singer Inger Lise Rypdal, saxophonist Jan Garbarek, oboist Ekkehard Fintl, and rhythm section Bobo Stenson, Arild Andersen and Jon Christensen.

Garbarek's second album for ECM found him conducting further explorations in two separate directions. On the one hand, his playing and, to some extent, his composing were becoming increasingly avant-garde, a path which would culminate in the ensuing Tryptikon disc. His stark cries clearly owed something to the then burgeoning AACM movement as well as to European musicians like Peter Brotzmann. At the same time, pieces like the title track here nodded toward the contemporary jazz-rock experiments of Miles Davis. "Sart"'s descending five-note theme and the space it leaves in its wake are reminiscent of one of Davis' approaches on records like Bitches Brew. Garbarek utilizes this structure to good dramatic effect, generating mini-climax after mini-climax, only to recede at the end.

It's no real surprise, then, that this Oxford, England-based band found a home on Stateside turntables that were otherwise Anglophobic, despite being pigeonholed as shoegazers. In all fairness, the band was about as exciting to watch as any actual shoegaze band, and Adam Franklin's vocals were buried deep within the studio and live mixes. (Flying leg kicks, windmills, and eye contact couldn't have been all that possible with an unwieldy battery of effects pedals at the feet.)
