Normie Rowe is one of those perennially popular figures on the Australia music scene given that his career has carried him from covering rock 'n roll standards like "Shakin' All Over" to playing Valjean in the Australian cast of Les Miserables, he might be most easily compared to Tommy Steele or Joe Brown in England, except that his music has crossed several rock genres, even brushing up against psychedelia during the late 1960's.

Originally released in 1983, this album was recorded in between the 2 Toto albums "IV" and "Isolation", and includes most of the Toto band members, plus almost all the best studioperformers of L.A. at the time (Tom Kelly, Billy Steinberg a.m.o). The songs are well written and powerfully recorded. The 2 best known songs are the title track "Taking A Cold Look" and "Alone". The last one was also released some years later by the band Heart, but I personally like this original version better. If you like the mid-80's AOR/Westcoast sound, this album is a MUST, and the sooner you buy it, the better - for you!

If absence truly makes the heart grow fonder, then this is the best title that could be chosen for this indie rock band originally from Australia. Absence is the 2011 album by Snowman, who moved to London to better themselves but that would lead to the group calling it a day. This was released by Dot Dash Recordings.

The album peaked at #44 on the US Billboard 200, and featured three singles: his first top ten pop hit "If Ever You're in My Arms Again" (also #6 R&B, and #1 Adult contemporary), "Slow Dancin'" (#82 pop, #35 R&B), and "Learning the Ways of Love", which failed to chart. Bryson himself co-produced the record, as well as writing five of the eight songs himself and playing keyboards throughout the album.

After their 1980 tour in support of their previous album Duke, the band took a break before they reconvened in 1981 to write and record a new album. Abacab is the first Genesis album recorded at The Farm, a recording studio bought by the group in Chiddingfold, Surrey. It marked the band's development from their progressive roots into more accessible and pop-oriented songs, and their conscious decision to write songs unlike their previous albums. "Abacab" received a mostly positive reception from critics and was a commercial success for the band, reaching #1 on the UK Albums Chart and #7 on the US Billboard 200.

"Introspective" is the 3rd studio album by English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys. It was released on 10 October 1988 by Parlophone. It is the duo's second-best-selling album (their biggest-selling being "Very" (1993)), with over 4.5 million copies bought worldwide. It is so named because "all the songs, although it's a dance album, are introspective". Perhaps the biggest change in Pet Shop Boys' sound evident on this album is an increasing attention to orchestration using real orchestras, particularly on the Trevor Horn-produced "Left to My Own Devices", which took months to produce.

"Hello Big Man" is singer-songwriter Carly Simon's twelfth album, and eleventh studio album, released in 1983. The album was Simon's last for Warner Bros. Records (and for what became the Warner Music Group, having also spent time with Elektra Records), as it was a commercial disappointment upon release, despite a positive reception from critics. The album featured Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare on a number of tracks, including one Bob Marley cover. The title of the album is an allusion to the reply that Simon's mother, Andrea Simon, gave to her father, Richard Simon, when they first met. He said "hello little woman", and she replied "hello big man".

"The Circus" debuted at #1 on the UK Albums Chart and was the 2nd best-selling album of 2008 in the UK, selling over 1.5 million copies. The album's lead single "Greatest Day" became Take That's 11th #1. Four further singles were released which failed to match the success of "Greatest Day": "Up All Night", "The Garden", "Said It All" and "Hold Up a Light".
