Swedish maestro Joachim Gustaffson's dream has come true in his capacity as chief conductor of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra, which recently released the album “Beethoven Piano Concertos”. This first disc of Ludwig van Beethoven, of three to be produced in total, contains the “Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major (Op. 58)” and the “Violin Concerto and Orchestra in D major (Op. 61)” –version for piano, written by the composer himself–, as part of an unprecedented project in the history of Colombia.

Golden Years is the latest record from Whigs frontman, Parker Gispert. Golden Years is the follow up release to 2018’s critically acclaimed, Sunlight Tonight. Much like Sunlight Tonight, Golden Years finds Gispert embracing introspective, personal lyrics that also delve into the current social divide while at the same time writing lyrics meant to encourage the listener to get up, have fun and enjoy rock and roll. Musically, the nine-song effort finds Gispert embracing his roots with the familiar sound of the raw and jangly southern-garage rave-ups that his band, The Whigs came to be known for.

Roscoe Shelton was a figurehead of Tennessee soul in the 1950s and 60s with his soaring, flexible, gospel-drenched R&B vocal stylings. Soul in His Music, Music in His Soul was his second record, a release that rocketed Shelton to fame with the hit single "Strain on My Heart".

German violinist Tanja Becker-Bender returns to the Romantic Violin Concerto series along with Hyperion house band the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Garry Walker. Volume sixteen features concertos by Busoni and Strauss. In D major, the key of Beethoven's and Brahms's violin concertos, Busoni's Violin Concerto is clearly intended to continue their lineage although it never descends into mere imitation. The seventeen-year-old Strauss wrote his Violin Concerto during his final year at the Ludwigsgymnasium. The work is fairly unknown on the concert platform, but Becker-Bender's interpretation should win it new friends.

On the follow up to their highly successful debut "Vessel", the band worked with famed producers Mike Elizondo, Mike Crossey, Tim Anderson and Ricky Reed to craft a genre-bending collection of dynamic and diverse songs.

Sawyer Fredericks was the winner of season eight of The Voice when he was only 16 years old, making him the youngest winner in the show's history and ultimately one of the most successful. Coached by Pharrell Williams, Fredericks broke several records during his appearance on the series, selling over a million downloads of his various singles. A successful four-song EP followed in late 2015, leading up to this debut full-length album, entirely written or co-written by Fredericks.

Norma Deloris Egstrom (May 26, 1920 – January 21, 2002), known professionally as Peggy Lee, was an American jazz and popular music singer, songwriter, composer, and actress, over a career spanning seven decades.

Berit Johansen Tange trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with the lecturer Anne Øland, and in the spring of 1995 studied in Paris with Brigitte Engerer. In 1997 she was admitted to the Royal Academy’s special class for pianists with the subjects chamber music and accompaniment (with Anne Øland and Tove Lønskov) and made her debut from there in December 2000.

Lubomir Pipkov (1904–74) was one of the leading members of the so-called ‘second generation’ of Bulgarian composers. In later life he became fascinated with the ancient heritage of Bulgarian folk-music, writing a series of what he called ‘metro-rhythmical studies’ – piano miniatures that combine melodic immediacy and rhythmic complexity, with a character that might be loosely characterised as sounding like ‘Prokofiev in the Balkans’.

The organ duo Marion Krall and Lars Schwarze take us to enchanted lands with their new GENUIN CD, playing their own transcriptions of great orchestral works for organ with four hands and four feet. Since the Baroque era, orchestral works have been transcribed for the organ.
