Shock rocker Alice Cooper's Welcome To My Nightmare — part of our Analogue Productions Atlantic 75th Anniversary Series — embellishes an already landmark release. 1975 was a banner year for superstar Alice Cooper with the release of the groundbreaking concept album. This album showcases Cooper's theatricality, storytelling prowess, and ability to create an immersive world of horror and fantasy.

To record an album both fascinating and full of emotions, where I can capture the music that has accompanied me throughout my life, has always been a desire of mine. The double bass is the instrument through which I express myself in its purest form. I feel that creating this album is my way of expressing gratitude to it. It is essential for me that everything has meaning. By taking the sonata form as the guiding thread for the album, I have meticulously assembled the pieces, as if they were a puzzle. Each of the works holds great significance for me, representing an important part of my relationship with music.

It took a long time for the guitar to enter and establish itself in contemporary music. Yet the piece that marked its entry into the 20th century was a very modern one: the Tombeau that Manuel De Falla dedicated in 1922 to Claude Debussy was pioneering at the time. The instrument had everything it needed to be ‘modern’: a small, but captivating chamber music sonority, a glorious past (at least in the then half­forgotten noble ancestor, the lute, whose place it took), and a technique still evolving and ready to be explored. However, despite Schönberg’s use of the guitar as early as 1924 in his Serenade, mainly owing to Andrés Segovia – the main architect of the instrument’s renaissance in the 20th century, who long dominated the scene with his own predilections and idiosyncrasies –, the repertoire remained linguistically linked to that debut moment until the 1970s: modern, but no longer contemporary.

In the Bruckner Year 2024, St. Florian Abbey, with the master's burial place, the famous organ and the world-famous St. Florian Boys' Choir, will become even more of a focus for the international Bruckner fan community than it already is. A special prelude to this was the intermission film of this year's New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, in which two St. Florian Boys' Choir members led an audience of millions through all of Bruckner's memorials and in which the choir performed the single release of the motte "Locus iste".

Written and recorded over 3 years in London, Switzerland and in an ancient barn not far from their Midland’s roots, founding members Simon and Justin Jones who form the core of ‘And Also ­The Trees’ with maverick drummer Paul Hill are joined for the first time by Grant Gordon on bass guitar and Colin Ozanne on clarinet.

Rollins Plays for Bird is an album by jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins, recorded in 1956 for the Prestige label, and released in the end of July 1957. It featuring performances by Rollins with Kenny Dorham, Wade Legge, George Morrow and Max Roach on material associated with Charlie Parker.

Mulligan Meets Monk is a studio album by American jazz pianist Thelonious Monk and baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan, originally released on Riverside Records in 1957. It was remastered for CD in 1987 (and reissued on SACD in 2004) with three additional alternative takes from the original session.

"Birth Of The Cool" is a must-have compilation album featuring three landmark Davis sessions from 1949 to 1950. Showcasing compelling and unique instrumentation, Davis is joined by acclaimed musicians including Lee Konitz, Gerry Mulligan, Al Haig, Al McKibbon, Max Roach, Kenny Clarke, Kenny Hagood, Bill Barber, J.J. Johnson and more. The album is included on Guardian’s “50 Great Moments in Jazz”. This is a definitive release in the history of cool jazz.

Donna Jean Young was an actress, known for her performance in "The Beverly Hillbillies", "ABC Stage 67", and "Pioneer Spirit". This spoken word, comedy LP is moving fast up the popularity pole and getting some excellent TV exposure along the way. All of which should make this debut album, recorded live in her homeground, a good sales possibility. Some of the material banters the town, the high school prom and telegrams.

Jonathan Bockelmann is back with the second installment of his ongoing series „Sakamoto on Guitar“, a tribute to the deceased Japanese composer. „Suite for Krug in 2008“ is a piece commissioned by the champagne brand “Krug”. Each of the three “Movements” is intended to be paired with one of their wines. Jonathan’s stripped-down arrangement for guitar takes the piano and all the lush and bubbly synths of the original and decants them into a fine blend of flageolets and arpeggios, masterfully combining the different layers of the composition on his instrument.

After his much-lauded debut ‘Childish Mind’, classical guitarist Jonathan Bockelmann pays tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto with a series of innovative arrangements of pieces by the Japanese composer.

It is the 13th studio album from the influential cult British band. Inspired by the band’s recent concerts in previously unvisited countries – Ukraine, Romania, Lithuania and Japan – Born Into The Waves evolves from four pieces composed by guitarist Justin Jones on the theme of love songs from around the world. It’s a question that Heidi Radtke’s debut album CONVERGENCE for soprano, alto, and tenor sax asks earnestly, an elegant meshing of the heartbeats behind the sounds of eight living composers, strung together by the laughter and conversation woven into each exploration, and the saxophone’s ability to tell its tale. The full breadth of Radtke’s capability is on display as she navigates the variety of narratives, messages, and sonic uniquities in the landscape of CONVERGENCE, sometimes bolstered forward with a bubbly charm — in the “chicken clucks” of Barry Cockcroft’s Ku Ku — and sometimes with a powerful, reminding grace, — Rahsaan Barber’s Breonna Taylor (How Many More?) – but always with a special musicality.

The Mariinsky label was launched in May 2009 with a ground-breaking recording of Shostakovich’s early opera The Nose, which received much praise and many awards. Gergiev continues to work his way through the Shostakovich oeuvre with the Mariinsky and here adds the two piano concertos, plus the fifth piano concerto by the popular Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin.
