Metallica are a band known for not doing things half way, and when they set out to make a live album, they did it on an epic scale. Metallica: Live Sh*t – Binge and Purge is a mammoth box set which on features a complete three hour concert recorded in Mexico City 1993 on compact disc, and on home video adds two more shows in their entirety – San Diego in 1992, and Seattle in 1989.

Saxophonist Yann Jankielewicz, Tony Allen's last musical director, presents Keep It Simple, his first solo album. A cross between New-York jazz and rock-leaning Afrobeat. He is accompanied by two iconic musicians from the New York scene. Jason Lindner is on keyboards (David Bowie, Meshell, Avishai Cohen), and possesses the ability to find new, powerful sounds, with direct, unadorned playing. Josh Dion is on drums (John Scofield, Randy Brecker), and plays synth bass with his right hand, which forces him to remain simple.

Eric Petzoldt (*1990 in Kassel) is a saxophonist, Guitarist and musicologist. In addition to music projects in the fields of jazz and improvised music, he is also active at the Center for Intercultural Music in Kassel. He is currently doing his PhD at Cambridge University on jazz in Morocco. He lives in Rabat and Kassel.

Niamh Bury is at the very forefront of Irish folk music’s revival. Bury deftly pairs her luminescent, instantly recognizable voice with a nuanced signwriting sensibility that draws inspiration from folk, indie, and jazz and draws upon inspirations from artists such as Anna Mieke, Billie Marten and Big Thief. Signing with illustrious Irish folk label Claddagh Records in the early part of 2023, Bury spent much of the year establishing herself as one of the nation’s most exciting emerging artists.

The Incredible Bongo Band was formed by MGM A&R Michael Viner in 1972 to record the soundtrack to a now virtually anonymous B-Movie entitled 'The Thing with Two Heads'. "The IBB" transformed from a loose studio collective to an instrumental pop covers consortium, interpreting classics of the day in their inimitable percussive fashion. Viner recorded them at MGM studios during downtime, assembling line-ups from whichever musicians were available at the time, leading to a unique blend of multi-talented musicians that included Jim Gordon, King Errisson, Jerry Scheff, and Perry Botkin Jr. The full bands' line-up is shrouded in mystery, but their legacy is undeniable. They spawned cult-classic records that would become a goldmine for hip hop breaks and attain sampling immortality.
