Color Changes is an album by trumpeter Clark Terry featuring performances recorded in late 1960 and originally released on the Candid label.

This Ambient album features the recordings of my home concerts nr. 38 and nr. 36. Most of the music was improvised and recorded directly to stereo. Long evolving Ambient soundscapes meet subtle sequencer work, played on vintage and modern electronic instruments.

"Inno alla Terra" is a contemporary and experimental piece, with tribal yet slightly classical overtones. The sound is the most important element of the entire piece: the harmony on which the entire composition is based, together with the melody, is deliberately dissonant in order to respect the ancestral intentionality of the sounds and the modernity of the sounds emitted in a mechanical and obstinate manner through the use of a prepared piano, that is, modifying the internal strings of the instrument by adding wooden or metal objects, alternating the natural sound in a rudimentary manner.

Through this album these magicians seek to seduce you into joining their occult universe where neck-break riffs, hard hitting melodies and sexually loaded energies flow freely. However, the interplay between these four musicians is always the main highlight.

For his song collection "Can It Be You That I Hear?", the Belgian composer and multi-instrumentalist Claude Evence Janssens draws on poems by Anglo-Saxon and American authors of the Victorian era. Thomas Hardy, William Ernest Henley, Thomas Moore, Christina Rossetti, Walt Whitman and others are, like a large part of classical song writing, to be attributed to the Romantic period. Musically, Janssens takes a varied approach. Although the instrumentation of bass voice, piano, string quintet, bass clarinet and trumpet is classical, stylistically the American barbershop style and modern pop song are also touched upon.

With one foot planted in jazz and the other in the township groove of Mbaqanga, saxophonist Sello Mmutung was a powerful crossover figure in the history of popular music in South Africa.

Jazz great Winston Mankunku has died in Cape Town. The masthead photo of ElectricJive (above) features Mankunku centre-stage on his soprano saxophone playing at the Langa Town Hall in 1972. It was taken by Ian Huntley, a long-time friend and supporter of this great musician.

The Matthias Van den Brande Trio was created by its bandleader/saxophonist in 2021 and features two of his favorite people and musicians: Tijs Klaassen (bass) and Wouter Kühne (drums).
