Chilly Gonzales celebrates the 20th anniversary of Solo Piano with a new live recording of the songs that became known for evoking the dying genres of classical and jazz and dragging them kicking and screaming into the 21st century. The 20th anniversary version were recorded “live” in front of a small audience at the mythical Studios Ferber in Paris, on the very same piano where the 15 emblematic tracks, such as Manifesto, Gogol and Dot, were composed and originally recorded.

After 12 years of instrumental albums (ranging from a pair of Solo Pianos, chamber music, collaborative albums with Boys Noize, Jarvis Cocker and Plastikman and even a best-selling Christmas record), Chilly Gonzales has a lot to get off his chest. The notebooks that sat unfilled since 2011’s orchestral rap opus “The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales” started to fill up again in early 2022 after ending a lengthy decade of psychoanalysis. Coincidence? Hardly.

This is Chilly Gonzales' first album written and performed in the language of Molière and Bangalter.
