Swedish jazz phenomon Nils Berg Cinemasocpe is back with their sixth album - The music on this album is based on field recordings of musicians, singers and sounds from the streets and countryside of Punjab, India - Nils Berg Cinemacope is a group of highly acclaimed Swedish jazz musicians that has toured all continents and collaborated with musicians and dancers in Italy, Cuba, Japan and more.

Andrew Appel, Artistic Director of the Four Nations Ensemble, performs throughout Europe and the United States as soloist in many festivals including Italy’s Spoleto Festival, New York’s Mostly Mozart Festival, and the Redwoods Festival. In 2023 Appel was invited to join the performers at Music from Marlboro. As recitalist, Mr. Appel has performed at Carnegie and Avery Fisher Halls in New York, as well as halls from the Music Academy of the West to the Smithsonian in Washington DC.

"Fractured" contains six tracks that tell of different feelings and very personal experiences. They are about love, an almost missed opportunity or the feeling of sheer endless freedom. The pieces, which were all written by Jan Schrüllkamp, the band's guitarist, are refreshing due to their lightness and the interesting arrangement with vibraphone, saxophone, double bass and drums. Each track creates its own little cosmos.

SUNFACE from Oslo, Norway released their debut album Observatory in December 2016, which became monumental within the genre, and the title track was played several hundred thousand times all over the globe. Finally, after 8 years they are back and the journey continues in 2024, with the band's new album Cloud Castles - where tribe percussion and stoner/psych meet in a unique sound that has never before been heard. With a wall of speaker cabinets, fuzz, and a wide spectrum of djembe, congas, tabla etc, atmospheric melodies and heavy riffs float hand in hand in a new type of tribe ritual.

Brazilian singer and composer Arthur Melo turns to the ‘70s & ‘80s, to the musical greats like Caetano Veloso and Milton Nascimento, channelling his love of director Brian de Palma and old detective films, and positioning himself amongst a new generation of contemporary musicians.

"All I wanted to do was to get to Sacramento to play the topless bars," recalls tower of power founder and tenor saxophonist Emilio Castillo about his band's early days in the late '60s. Clearly, the funk horn ensemble has accomplished much more than that. A major influence on fusion and smooth jazz, the 10-piece band has recorded albums for Epic, Columbia, and Warner Bros. and continues to tour the summer jazz-festival circuit. Soul Vaccination: Tower of Power Live, features 15 of the band's most popular songs as recorded during a 1998 world tour. Half of the tunes were recorded at the Fillmore in San Francisco, where the band performed frequently back in the day.

Miyuji Kaneko was born in 1989 to a Japanese father and a Hungarian mother. At the age of six, he moved to Hungary alone to study under Zsuzsa Cs. Nagy at the Bartok Elementary School of Music. In 2001 at the age of eleven, he was accepted into the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, skipping grades and studying with professors Gabor Eckhardt, Gyongyi Kevehazi, and Rita Wagner. He has won first prizes in many international music competitions, including the 2008 Bartok International Piano Competition.

The sonatas and partitas for solo violin (BWV 1001–1006) are a set of six works composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. They are sometimes referred to in English as the sonatas and partias for solo violin in accordance with Bach's headings in the autograph manuscript: "Partia" (plural "Partien") was commonly used in German-speaking regions during Bach's time, whereas the Italian "partita" was introduced to this set in the 1879 Bach Gesellschaft edition, having become standard by that time. The set consists of three sonatas da chiesa in four movements and three partitas (or partias) in dance-form movements. The 2nd Partita is widely known for its Chaconne, considered one of the most masterly and expressive works ever written for solo violin.

Formed in 1981, The Blue Aeroplanes are Bristol’s longest running band and a true art-rock institution who have inspired countless post-punk and alternative groups including R.E.M., Radiohead, and Manic Street Preachers. ‘Beatsongs’ was first released in 1991 and became their highest charting album, featuring standout tracks such as ‘Yr Own World’, ‘Fun’, ‘Colour Me’, and ‘The Boy In The Bubble’ (a cover of the Paul Simon classic).

One of the key German composers before Bach with more than 500 surviving individual pieces, Heinrich Schutz wrote mainly church music, and is credited with bringing the Italian style to Germany and continuing its evolution from the Renaissance into the early Baroque. Although he lived most of his long life in Germany, in his twenties Schutz made two visits to Venice.

Their previous album Arrival of The New Elders presented a more varied and reflective trio, still as groovy as ever, but more structured and less jam oriented, earning them a 9/10 review in Uncut and a spot in their albums of the year list, noting their telepathic communion and concluding with “this is an Elephant9 you´ll never forget”. Reviews in Jazzwise, Shindig, Prog, Electronic Sound, The Quietus and several others followed in the same fashion.

This recording presents an unedited early classical repertoire by the Venetian composer and violinist Maddalena Lombardini Sirmen (1745-1760). As an outstanding pupil at the Ospedale dei Mendicanti in Venice, she was allowed to study with Giuseppe Tartini in Padua, who wrote her a long letter in which he explained his methods of violin playing and practising. This letter was copied in Padua even before it was sent and printed in Italy around 1770, followed by translations into English, German and French.

Makatumbe regularly goes on treasure hunts for musical gems. The traditional-sounding melodies found or invented are packaged into modern dance grooves and peppered with many of our own sound ideas. The unusual line-up makes you sit up and take notice: vocal acrobatics à la beatbox, raggamuffin and overtone singing meet accordion and clarinet, drums and bass form the driving and grooving basic structure. On stage the band presents a very wide spectrum: from cumbia, reggae (sound) and hip-hop to Balkanesque and oriental to techno. What unites the band's sound is the explosive energy of the musicians. No dance stays still. At the finale of the creole festival 2017, Makatumbe won both the award for outstanding musical diversity and the audience award with his colorful palette and sparkling enthusiasm.

Orange Mountain Music is proud to present Philip Glass’s “Etudes for Piano” performed by Dutch pianist Feico Deutekom. Following up on his successful first album on OMM, “Musical Offering” Deutekom’s new album is a new examination of Glass’s piano Etudes, one of the landmark bodies of work in the 21st Century, from a new perspective. The most common approach for pianists is as “completists” and to simple record Glass’s twenty Etudes in straight order.

This record production represents for me a kind of “viaticum” towards the return to a complete musical activity, but it is also a farewell to Emilia Fadini, a great musician and musicologist specialized in the study and performance of late Renaissance, Baroque and Classical repertoire, with whom I had the privilege of studying for almost twenty years. The pieces in this recording are the last ones we faced together and I feel like to have to dedicate her this work. This is a way to remember someone who was a teacher, a friend, as well as a solid point of reference and an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me as well as for many musicians who, at least in Italy, are actually involved in ancient music.
