When Carla, Nick and I has completed our previous work “The Scale” in 2021, I felt this was such a unique work in its scope and feel – prog, pop, abstraction and chanson – that it would be very difficult to follow up such a definitive statement.

After the release of the first three albums "In Memoriam", "Nights Of Lust" and "Miserere" Jason Köhnen (Mansur / The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble / The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation) has created The Lovecraft Sextet’s first soundtrack to a yet to be created movie. The Horror Cosmic is a Lovecraftian cosmic horror short story which dives into the existential dread of the infinite nothingness. The album was composed as a soundtrack to accompany the illustrated short story and is an expanded step in the multidisciplinary aspect of the Lovecraft Sextet project. Therefore this release should be listened to as a soundtrack with compositions working to accentuate a specific mood to the specific chapters of the story.

A key actor on the hazy side of post-punk music, Scottish trio COCTEAU TWINS became famous for their ethereal soundscapes and for pioneering what would become known as dream pop. The group's sound was also highly inspirational for Jason Köhnen (BONG-RA, THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE). Paying tribute to this legendary band, Köhnen's THE LOVECRAFT SEXTET has created an experimental 30-minute cover of the song 'Seekers Who Are Lovers' which originally appeared on the 1996 album "Milk & Kisses".

Propelled by the kinetic ferocity of Matt Brown’s drums and guided by soul deep melodies, motifs & cries unfurled from Andrew Neil Hayes’ tenor, the music that emerges is fiercely committed, questing & risk-taking.

But fear not faithful traveller, Run Logan Run don’t deal in intimidating exclusivism, their debut album is a heavy (daddio), melodic cosmic joy.

Some musicians can do that. Make time stand still. Often without intention. They sing songs straight from the heart. They pull on all your heartstrings. Naima Joris is such a singer. Pure.

The new album encapsulate six different dreams delivered from the times when the itinerant cosmonauts had a telluric existence. We like the words of Kurt Vonnegut and the imagery of Andrei Tarkovski, so we tried to embed this in our aesthetics and in every word or expression to resonate with our own personal philosophy.
