Grammy Award nominee Ernie Haase and Signature Sound bring A Jazzy Little Christmas to Birdland on Monday, December 2 at 7:00 PM. With true, four-part harmony and a three-piece jazz band, the live show is reminiscent of the sounds of The Four Freshmen with the jazz of Tony Bennett.

In 2017 I wrote Autumn Rain, and for the first time in years I felt that I could ask musicians to try things out with me. I knew Terje and Tine from before, and I had a feeling that they could contribute to develop my songs and the sound of the new trio. What I didn´t know was that they knew each other very well and had played together for years! Both said yes, and we started to rehearse together in 2019.

Curandero is the debut collaborative album by pioneering ambient electronic artist Steve Roach and acclaimed throat singer and ritual artist SoRIAH. The album, which the artists describe as "sonic shamanism" and "immersive ritual music," explores the frontiers between the known, the exotic, fear, and freedom. Roach, an originator of the tribal ambient genre, resides in Baja Arizona, drawing inspiration from the ancestral land of the curanderos (indigenous healers). SoRIAH, deeply devoted to Tuvan throat singing (Khöömei), traveled to the same region (the ancient motherland of Aztlán) for the collaboration. The music, which SoRIAH describes as "deep shadow work" on the cusp of healing and shamanic exorcism, and Roach calls a "portal" between worlds, blends interwoven trance rhythms, hallucinatory atmospheres, and harmonic vocal overtones. Recording and mixing took place in studios across Baja Arizona, Oregon, and Mongolia.

On March 7, 2005, Marius Müller-Westernhagen's album "Nahaufnahme" (Close-Up) was released and debuted at number 1 on the German charts, where it remained for two weeks. It was certified gold for over 100,000 units sold. The album was produced by Dieter Krauthausen, Jay Stapley, and Westernhagen himself, and recorded at Mark Angelo Studios in London. The cover was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. On this album, Westernhagen combines the songwriting passion of his early albums with the virtuosic, yet never intrusive, musicianship of his predominantly British band.

The album ‘Ganz allein krieg's nicht hin’ (I Can't Do It Alone) was released on 20 June 1977. Recorded at Alsterstudio and produced by Peter Hesslein, the music was once again performed by the members of Lucifer's Friend. Five of the songs were written by Marius Müller-Westernhagen. In the year after his breakthrough as an actor (with Peter F. Bringmann's ‘Aufforderung zum Tanz’), he remained unsuccessful as a musician.

The album Das Herz eines Boxers (The Heart of a Boxer) was released on 21 October 1982 and reached number 11 in the charts, remaining there for a total of 17 weeks. For the production of his seventh studio album, Westernhagen travelled to London for the first time with producer Lothar Meid and recorded an album at London's Townhouse Studio that took a more diverse and experimental sound direction.

"Marius and I have known each other for ages. We first met in 1980, when we went to the cinema together. He was sitting on top of the screen in a Volvo articulated lorry and I was sitting below, in the front row of the Grindel cinema. At the time, I also weighed about 52 kilos, wore size 28 jeans and, like him, had this nondescript, fringed hairstyle. I could totally identify with the dynamic ferret on the screen – not only because we actually looked alike, but because this little thin man named Theo, whom he embodied so magnificently, who was mercilessly inferior to ‘the rest of the world’ but walked around with his chest puffed out, had something in common with me. Because anyone who comes across as such a loudmouth is, in reality, only too familiar with the old monkey called fear."
