Harlem based saxophonist and Philadelphia native, Sam Taylor presents his third release for Cellar Live, featuring trumpet master Terell Stafford. Recorded at Van Gelder Studios in January of 2022, a time when much of what we believed in as a society was being redefined and reimagined, Taylor chose to invite his musical elders to join him on a journey of generosity and letting go.

The third and most seasoned Drugdealer album, Hiding In Plain Sight, almost didn't happen at all. Frustrated and insecure with his own singing voice prior to the pandemic, Drugdealer founder and primary songwriter Michael Collins was nearly ready to throw in the towel. While attending Mexican Summer's annual Marfa Myths festival, a chance encounter with artist and composer Annette Peacock changed his outlook. Collins says, "I told her my plight, then I played her a song, and she told me I wasn't singing high enough for my speaking voice. When I returned to LA, I started coming up with new progressions, which I'd modulate up three half steps. It forced me to find a new way to sing."

Dvsn has officially announced their much-anticipated fourth album, Working On My Karma. The follow-up to 2020’s A Muse in Her Feelings will arrive on Oct. 28 via OVO Sound / Warner Records. The R&B duo (vocalist Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85) confirmed the title and its release date on Thursday morning. While the details on their upcoming album are still scarce, they did share an image of the cover art. It depicts a raging Daley, shot in a metallic and wearing a durag, with the hands of three women on his face. In an August profile with Rated R&B, super producer Jermaine Dupri described dvsn’s new album as “an honest space for a man.” He continued, “It’s a record that [speaks] to the challenges of a man — and Daniel being that one in particular.”
