Berlin-based Swedish saxophonist Otis Sandsjö returns with the eagerly-awaited sequel to "Y-OTIS". On "Y-OTIS 2", released by We Jazz Records on July 24, Sandsjö and his close associate, bassist/producer Petter Eldh (of Koma Saxo), deepen their vision of genre-bending, forward-looking "liquid jazz" of tomorrow. The core group also includes Dan Nicholls on keys and Tilo Weber on drums, and also featured on the album are Swedish jazz greats Jonas Kullhammar (of Koma Saxo) and Per "Texas" Johansson, cellist Lucy Railton and trumpeter Ruhi-Deniz Erdogan.

Isola echoes the jazz futurism of the 1970s. Ralph Towner and Eberhard Weber’s excursions for ECM, Brian Eno’s self-generating experiments, the fourth world mysticism of Jon Hassell, as well as Pike’s own recent forays into spiritual improvisation and electronics as both a solo artist and as part of the UK’s Szun Waves (with modular synth master Luke Abbott).

I can’t actually remember why we decided to do this project other than ask ourself, why had it not been done years ago? let’s do it! Tenderlonious is releasing a new album, titled Quarantena, via his own 22a imprint this August. Returning to the array of synths and studio hardware he’s amassed over the years whilst in lockdown at his south London home, Quarantena emerges as the soundtrack to his quarantine. Inspired by sci-fi and fantasy movies, the album includes homages to The NeverEnding Story and Total Recall, as well as George Orwell’s 1984.
